The iPhone 7 will have a slightly bigger battery than the iPhone 6S. That's even more impressive when you consider that the iPhone 7's body is said to be slimmer than the 6S's.

This news comes from a report on Chinese social network Weibo.

It says the iPhone 7 will boast a 1,735mAh battery, up from the 6S's 1,715mAh. The bigger iPhone 7 Plus is also said to get a battery boost, with a 2,810mAh model up from 2,750mAh in the 6S Plus.

The handset is expected to look very similar to the 6S, which would be a break from Apple tradition. Usually, the firm introduces a new look for every other iPhone, while the 'S' iterations get a minor spec boost while looking the same as their predecessors.

Apple is expected to drop the headphone port for the next iPhone, helping to make the handset slimmer. Though this has angered fans who will have to shell out for a new set of headphones.

As ever, take all this with a pinch of salt for now. We've got to wait until September to find out if this rumour is true.

There have been conflicting leaks concerning the iPhone 7, but one constant has been the fact that Apple will drop the headphone port in order to make the phone slimmer. But now that's been thrown into doubt.

That's because a new leak shows the port in place after all.

It comes courtesy of Nowhereelse, a French site known for the accuracy of its leaks. It has published an image purporting to show a Lightning cable assembly for the forthcoming iPhone. But contrary to rumours, the image shows a headphone port in place.

The image came from Chinese social network Weibo, so there's no way to verify its veracity.

The rumour that Apple would drop the headphone port has angered many online. However, Intel has called for the port to be abandoned in favour of USB Type-C. Apple wouldn't even be the first first to drop it – Chinese firm LeEco recently announced three new phones, all lacking headphone ports.

The iPhone 7 is expected to debut in September. Will Apple keep the headphone port? And would you be peeved to find out you have to buy a new pair of headphones to work with your new iPhone?

Samsung's Galaxy Note 6 is expected to launch this summer. We've already heard that it could have a USB Type-C port, but now comes word that it could also be an absolute powerhouse.

According to specs leaked from China, the phablet will have a 5.77-inch 2K screen. That would be on a par with the Note 5, which never even went on sale on UK shores. But it'll also have some upgraded internals.

It's pegged to boast a Qualcomm Snapdragon 823 processor, which is an upgraded version of the 820 found inside the Samsung Galaxy S7. And the S7 is certainly no slouch.

The Note 6 will also have a whopping 6GB of RAM to play with, 256GB of storage, a 4,200mAh battery, and be waterproof.

Samsung's Note handsets always have some pretty beefy specs. But even by its own standards, this is impressive.

The information comes from Chinese social media service Weibo, via Gizmochina. As such, it remains unverified.

We're expecting the Note 6 to debut this summer, probably between July and September. You'll know as soon as we do.

The iPhone is about to become much more useful for work. That's because Apple has signed a deal with Germany-based business app maker SAP to make the iPhone and iPad more appealing to enterprise users.

The partnership will result in a new software development kit (SDK) made by Apple and SAP that will let developers make business-focussed apps. There will also be a training academy for learning how to best use iOS to benefit users' businesses.

"This partnership will transform how iPhone and iPad are used in enterprise by bringing together the innovation and security of iOS with SAP's deep expertise in business software," Apple CEO Tim Cook said in a statement.

"As the leader in enterprise software and with 76 per cent of business transactions touching an SAP system, SAP is the ideal partner to help us truly transform how businesses around the world are run on iPhone and iPad."

Cook also tweeted the news.

This isn't the first time Apple has tried to position its devices as business tools. It currently works with IBM to make iOS apps for various industries and to deploy iOS technology in the field.

Microsoft and to a lesser extent BlackBerry are still seen as the dominant tech companies when it comes to business. We'll have to see whether Apple's consumer-friendly devices can make it big in the workplace.

The latest version of Android has always struggled with low adoption rates, and Marshmallow is no different. According to figures from the Android Developers website, Marshmallow is only on 7.5 per cent of all active Android devices. This despite being available for seven months.

Android Lollipop is second, on 35.6 per cent, while KitKat is third, with 32.5 per cent.

Android KitKat was released back in 2013, so a worrying number of Android devices are running software that's three years old.

Even more worryingly, 2012's Android Jelly Bean is still on 20.1 per cent of all active Android devices.

Fragmentation is a longstanding problem for Android. Because it lets manufacturers make devices with different screen sizes, and to add their own skin to the operating system, the latest version of Android has to roll out in stages for different devices. The only sure way to get the latest update first is to have a Nexus device.

iOS 9, by contrast, is on 77 per cent of all active iOS devices. And that's despite launching only five months ago.

Google will hold its annual I/O conference in a couple of weeks, where it will show off Android N. Hopefully it can come up with a solution to its fragmentation problem.

Apple has started offering a 50% discount for students when they subscribe to its Apple Music streaming service. That means that if you’re studying you can listen to millions of tracks and playlists for £4.99 a month.

The discount will be available to students for a total of four years, making it an enticing proposition compared with Spotify and Tidal.

Despite now having 13 million subscribers, Apple Music has been criticised for its unwieldy design.

It's also been on the receiving end of complaints from users who say that the streaming service has caused local music files to be deleted from their iTunes libraries.

The student-friendly price cut, however, should help the company grow Apple Music at a faster rate and take the fight to its rivals.

The news comes just days after a report claimed that Apple was priming a major overhaul of its streaming service.

The company is said to be plotting a new black and white design, as well as making lyrics available and improving browsing.

The updated Apple Music is expected to make its debut at Apple’s WWDC event, which starts on June 13th in San Francisco.

Vodafone has revealed it will offer free roaming in 40 European destinations for both new and upgrading pay monthly customers on its Red and Red Value packages.

The network’s move comes after Tesco Mobile confirmed it is scrapping roaming charges for the summer across Europe.

Vodafone’s announcement puts it alongside Tesco and Three when it comes to using a smartphone abroad. Calls, texts and picture messages will all be free while abroad.

However, customers looking to use data will find that their UK bundles are capped at a lower rate when travelling.

Users will be able to use no more than 4GB of data when abroad, even if they pay for a 12GB package in the UK.

Vodafone’s 8GB Red Value plan will score you 2GB of data while on foreign shores.

While this is still generous, it means users should keep a keen eye on how much data they’re using, so as not to avoid any additional costs.

Streaming music and video will quickly eat into data allowances.

Vodafone’s decision to stop roaming fees comes after EU legislation cut the cost of using a mobile when travelling in member states from the end of April.

A blanket ban on roaming charges will come into force from June 2017.
