New images of Samsung’s Galaxy Note 5 have leaked, less than two weeks before the handset is due to get its official unveiling at an event in New York.

The phone appears to take its cue from the Galaxy S6, with a scaled up frame and screen that looks as if it will come in around the 5.7–inch mark.

Samsung’s S–Pen has been squeezed in, with the spring–loaded stylus accessible from the bottom of the handset. There’s a neat new curved design round the back to make this larger handset easier to hold too.

Interestingly, Samsung appears to have ditched the popular microSD slot from the Galaxy Note range, much as it did with the Galaxy S6. That’s likely to infuriate long time fans.

Specs–wise, RAM is set to come in at 4GB, with 32, 64 and 128GB storage options available. The battery will be a non–removable 3000aMh effort.

USB is the charging port of choice, but not the futuristic USB-C which has already been seen on the excellent One Plus 2.

The Galaxy Note 5 is set to make its debut alongside a beefed up Galaxy S6 Edge+. Samsung needs both devices to sell well, after poor quarterly sales figures from April to June.
